The Superior Range Sportsman's Club is a CMP affiliated shooting club. Affiliation with the CMP allows our members to purchase firearms like M1 Garands and "service used" 1911 pistols and ammunition from the CMP.
- Proof of Membership -
It is thought that we may have some non-members who walk in and shoot without membership or safety training. Scattered brass, shot up signs, shooting while downrange lights and buzzer are on and video surveillance are signs that this is happening.
To help members and the Board, please keep your membership card handy. Put it in your wallet or bag and show it to anyone who asks if you are a member. This will hopefully keep you as well as those asking about your membership safe while at the range.
Damage Caused by Steel Core Ammo
The club decided to ban the use of armor-piercing and steel core ammunition at the range.
There is just no need to shoot this ammunition at the range and so only standard ammo is allowed.
Our AR500 steel targets have already sustained damage and as we add resettable steel targets, steel core ammunition can quickly make them inoperable and not repairable.
If you are unsure of your ammo, just use a magnet to check the bullets.
We have also updated the SRSC General Range Rules to address this issue for the future.
